Can I switch out my HPS to a Cultivate Tech LED without affecting a plant I already have growing?

December 04, 2016

Absolutely. However, it may take several days for your plant to adjust to the new lighting since LED lights emit very different type of light than any other light source. Discoloration or “bleaching” on the upper leaves of the plant may occur within the first few days of switching. This can be minimized by hanging the light a bit higher than normally recommended, around 48” away from your plants, for the first 3-7 days as they adjust to the new light source. Then they can be lowered to the recommended 12-36” range.
